“The Man with a Movie Camera constitutes an experiment in the cinematic transmission of visual phenomena without the aid of intertitles (a film with no intertitles), script (a film with no script), theatre (a film with no actors nor sets).

Kino-eye’s new experimental work aims to create a truly international film-language, absolute writing in film, and the complete separation of cinema from theatre and literature.”

“Culture is a notoriously ambiguous concept. Refracted through centuries of usage, the word has acquired a number of quite different, often contradictory, meanings. Even as a scientific term, it refers both to a process (artificial development of microscopic organisms) and a product (organisms so produced). Since the end of the eighteenth century, it has been used by English intellectuals and literary figures to focus critical attention on a whole range of controversial issues. The ‘quality of life’, the effects in human terms of mechanization, the division of labour and the creation of a mass society have all been discussed within the larger confines of what Raymond William s has called the ‘Culture and Society’ debate (Williams, 1961). It was through this tradition of dissent and criticism that the dream of the ‘organic society’ – of society as an integrated, meaningful whole – was largely kept alive. The dream had two basic trajectories. One led back to the past and to the feudal ideal of a hierarchically ordered community. Here, culture assumed an almost sacred function . Its ‘harmonious perfection’ (Arnold, 1868) was posited against the Wasteland of contemporary life.”

BLUES

My first idea

Was my best idea

Every day since I invested in a year

Once your finished listening put on something new

Seeing music hearing pictures is one to get through

My last idea

Was a fast idea

Came as it went but i riddled in fear

900 times I found a new skin

When you check the mirror, check next of kin

Take the HiPPO

Place the Zippo

Create ripple

For the people

Take the HiPPO

Place the Zippo

Create ripple

For the people

My next idea

Is a complex idea

If you understand it, it would be a skill for your career

Who controls the media, controls the culture

I’m a blue jay I’m never vulture

I cannot imagine what they’d say at the office

Its new technique thats won’t win them any offers

If I see the spot I run I run I run I run

I run it like a tap of water

Sitting in you arm chair

While my legs are crossing borders

Take the HiPPO

Place the Zippo

Create ripple

For the people

Take the HiPPO

Place the Zippo

Create ripple

For the people
